Description

One of the strongest, most noticeable steering and handling improvements that you can make to your 1984-89 Nissan 300ZX & Turbo is the replacement of the worn OEM steering rack bushings with solid replacement parts. This Solid Steering Rack Bushing Set marks a tremendous upgrade by changing the molded rubber bits out for high quality Delrin plastic bushings, removing unwanted flex from the rack and pinion unit. Delrin is comparable to aluminum in terms of durability and toughness and works perfectly for this particular application.

By installing solid steering rack bushings, steering engagement & feel in your Z31 300ZX becomes far tighter and ultra-crisp, resulting in a fantastic driving experience that seems otherwise improbable from a 35 year old vehicle.

Our bushings are clamshells that reuse the factory 25mm wide mounting straps. (Some cars came with 19mm wide mounting strap, and you would need to acquire a used set of 25mm rack straps to perform this rack bushing upgrade.)

Comes as a set of 4 pieces – (2) clamshell halves for both LH and RH side of the steering rack.

Product Notes

  • Requires 25MM Rack Bushing Mounting Straps. If you have narrower straps, you must acquire a set of 25MM straps for this installation to be safe and effective.
  • Some customers find putting a light coat of RTV on the inside of the clamshell halves during installation will help to keep bushings solidly locked in place.
